Functional Testing
Functional testing can be incredibly helpful in chronic or complex health conditions — but I do not believe everyone needs extensive testing straight away.
My approach is to first start with a detailed initial consultation, including a deep health history, symptom assessment, and where appropriate, iridology. Most of the time, this gives me enough information to begin a personalised treatment plan without the need for extra testing.
I also like to review any recent blood work or screening completed through your doctor, as this often provides valuable insight and helps us get started.
In some cases, functional testing can be a real game changer — particularly when symptoms are complex, long-standing, or not improving as expected. When clinically appropriate, we can discuss further testing options during your consultation.
Testing should support your healing journey, not overcomplicate it.

The Functional Testing Difference
Functional testing and Medicare-covered testing play unique roles in health evaluation, offering distinct advantages. Functional testing dives deep into the body's intricate systems, examining biomarkers that may not be part of standard screenings. This approach helps uncover the root causes of health issues, enabling personalized wellness strategies tailored to your unique physiology. It's particularly valuable for those grappling with chronic conditions, as it empowers you to take charge of your health journey and optimise your well-being. In contrast, Medicare-covered testing focuses on immediate medical needs, providing essential evaluations based on established guidelines. While these tests are vital for diagnosing acute issues and ensuring necessary care, they may not capture the whole picture of your health. By integrating both functional and Medicare-covered testing, you can achieve a more comprehensive understanding of your health, paving the way for a proactive and informed approach to wellness.
